“We are on the side of our farmers every day, working to bring the best-of-breed technologies to their operations."

At Ag Technologies LLC, our job is to create an environment in which our clients can confidently adopt sophisticated technology tools. Before any product reaches our farmers, we evaluate the company behind it — their people, their technology stack, their financial strength, and their long- term roadmap.

Verdant Robotics met every standard. We are proud to bring the SharpShooter™ to growers across Georgia, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee as part of our commitment to solving what matters most: rising input costs, quality risk, and the pressure of doing more with less.

Product Overview

What Is the SharpShooter™?

A tractor-mounted AI sprayer that targets individual weeds with millimeter precision — removing the need for broad spraying and preserving field quality beyond conventional methods.

The SharpShooter™ employs Verdant’s Bullseye Aim & Apply™ technology — blending spatial AI, machine learning, and precision nozzles — to detect crops and weeds in real time, create a 3D field map, and apply microliter treatments exactly on target.

Operating day or night at up to 480 shots per second, it treats 50–60 acres daily while cutting chemical use by up to 99% versus blanket spraying. It fits any standard 5-series tractor via 3-point hitch without PTO.

Financial Case for Sod & Turf Producers

The ROI Case Is Strongest Where Risk Is Highest

For sod and turf farm customers, the financial case for SharpShooter™ goes beyond herbicide
savings. The largest value driver is field quality and revenue protection — preventing the
contamination events that trigger pallet rejection and field renovation.

Herbicide Input Savings

Achieves a 90–96% decrease in chemical use compared to traditional spraying by targeting only necessary areas, thereby minimizing waste with each pass.

$156/ac

at 500 ac, moderate pressure

Largest Value Driver

Quality & Revenue Protection

A 3–5% presence of foreign grass in a field leads to full pallet rejection. The SharpShooter™ removes contaminants early at the 2mm seedling phase, preventing seed production and spread.

$182/ac

largest single value driver

Labor Cost Reduction

Consolidates 3–4 traditional spray applications per season and cuts hand-weeding by about 65%, allowing operators to focus on more valuable tasks.

Agronomic Context

Critical Weed & Grass Threats in Sod Production

The SharpShooter’s economic case is strongest where conventional chemistry fails. These are the threats driving renovation costs, pallet rejection, and long-term account loss for Southeast sod producers.

Weed / Grass Affected Sod Impact Level Cost Impact/Acre Why It Matters
Poa annua Bermuda, Zoysia Critical $400–$1,400 Zero-tolerance rejection; each plant seeds 100–300/yr; renovation $800–1,400/ac
Tall Fescue / Ryegrass Bermudagrass Critical $500–$1,300 Clumping causes cosmetic rejection; no selective removal chemistry — renovation only
Dallisgrass Bermudagrass High $200–$900 30–50% price downgrade; MSMA restricted; multiple costly applications required
Bahiagrass Bermuda, St. Aug. High $300–$800 Severe texture defect; buyer rejection in SE markets; no selective chemistry
Nutsedge All species High $150–$500 Seed heads destroy uniformity; tubers persist 5+ years; ongoing annual expense
Crabgrass All species Moderate $90–$300 Season-long; prolific seeder; drives multi-pass spray budget each year
